I tend to joke that I can generally tell I'm receiving a phone call from someone who doesn't know me, because he or she invariably pronounces my last name incorrectly. Of course, this was before the days of Caller ID. Anymore, I simply don't answer the phone if I don't recognize the caller as someone I wish to talk to.

My interests include number theory, words, Daniel and Revelation, piano, classical music, and questions of origins vis-a-vis the Bible and science. Nothing nerdy about me, nope! Oh, and did I mention that I also enjoy Web programming (PHP / MySQL)? (I have a site called retorick.net, which is hosted on a VPS that provides me root access and as many domains as I wish, without the high cost of a dedicated server.) On the other hand, I do enjoy such ...um... "highbrow" entertainment as disaster movies and roller coasters. Also am a big Disney fan.

Non-interests: sports, politics, business. Couldn't care much less about such things.

Personality: I'm very much reserved, though it's important to me to have a few close and valued friends. I have strong opinions on certain subjects; however, being perhaps hypersensitive to conflict, I tend to keep these to myself in contexts in which they are likely to arouse heated debate. I value intelligence and logical thinking, yet I resonate with the words of Pascal: "La coeur a ses raisons que la raison ne connaît point." There are times when one's gut, one's basic sense of things, trumps simple reasoning.

Physical: Not the "jock" type. I spend most of my time in front of the computer. Nevertheless, while definitely not muscular, I do give the appearance of one who exercises. I suspect I have a mesomorphic body type. I'm a little over 6' tall and weigh around 185 lbs.

Mental: Very bright. Beyond Mensa level, and have had membership in various "high-IQ" societies, including Mensa. At the same time, I tend to wonder, If I'm so smart, what am I doing with the mind God has given me?

Last name: By the way, orthography notwithstanding, it's pronounced "Taves," rhyming with a spelunker's territory.

Chuck Bartok is a one of kind individual. Without his motivation and guidance in helping me start my website I probably would have started the process of becoming a true internet marketer. Thanks Chuck for everything.
